After being told in high school that she was so bad at art that she should switch to another subject, Deby didn’t paint again for 35 years. Then a stroke released a new wave of creativity and she began exploring with dot painting, abstract and eventually acrylic pouring, and at last the joy of working with color returned.
You don’t need ‘talent’ to be an acrylic pouring artist – just enthusiasm, some basic instruction, and a willingness to try, fail and try again. Paint along with her and learn from her many mistakes, and you’ll soon make great art together.
We don’t get Silica and Flowtrol in our country. Could you please suggest some alternatives ? Thanks and regards
You may be able to find a hair care product that contains dimethicone as the first ingredient in place of the silicone oil and a lot of painters have great success using a white PVA glue as a pouring medium. Hope that helps.
What kind is silicon do I use
It’s really up to you. There are a lot of choices. Here are some of the options to give you some ideas – http://acrylicpouringstore.com/all-silicone-and-additives/
Do you use plain white with no pouring medium in it?
Hello!
In watching the video, the information was clearly explained and easily taught the method of painting that you completed. More importantly, though, is your vocal presentation and your personal mannerisms. You presented yourself so securely while you calmly and completely explained the process that the person watching your video feels completely calm and secure in understanding what you’re doing and what you’re teaching, and maybe even secure enough to feel that this project (or similar task) is within their reach.
I was a public school teacher for 10 years and a university professor for 20 years, and I wanted to share this compliment. You are very good in your videos, and it is obvious that you are a “natural teacher “. Being a good teacher or striving to become a good teacher is something many people struggle with and/or strive to achieve for their whole careers; some people excel at it while others completely fail.
With your natural teaching talents, you should make as many videos and host as many classes as possible!
Thank you for sharing your talent!
